ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Academic Requirement: The minimum academic requirement is an O'level with 5 credits (Inclusive of Mathematics and English).
This means that teachers with higher qualifications (Bachelor's Degrees in Education, Bachelor's Degrees not in Education, Master's Degrees, Post-graduate Degrees, and other academic qualifications above O'level) are also welcome to apply.
2. Technical Requirement: have and know how to use an internet-enabled device (mobile phone, tablet, or laptop).
The iDE will be delivered through a Learning Management System (LMS), accessible via a mobile application or a web browser. Users must possess the technical know-how to navigate a smartphone, as familiarity with mobile devices is essential. The app requires a mobile device with Android version 7 or higher, or iOS version 10 or higher.
3. Professional Requirement: be a teacher in a classroom.
You must be either a full-time or part-time teacher, or you should be starting a teaching role when the program begins. The iDE is similar to in-service training, focusing on practical application. As such, you will be expected to regularly implement the concepts and skills you learn throughout the course, and complete practical assessments that will be integral in determining your overall course results.
REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS
1.Passport Photograph
You will be required to upload a recent passport photograph of yourself. The photograph must not be older than 3 months.
2.Highest Academic Qualification
A copy of your highest academic qualification will be required. If your highest academic qualification is an O’ level certificate, it must meet the minimum requirement of 5 credit passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
3. Letter of employment
A copy of your letter of work or a letter from the school where you teach confirming that you are a teacher there. The letter must be signed by the school owner or headteacher. School owners are exempted from this requirement.
4. Personal Statement
Your statement has to be an expression of why you want to be on the UoB iDE programme in not more than 250 words.
5. Registration Fee
After filling out the Registration Form, you will be requested to make a payment for your application. Payment of the registration fee validates your application.
